Hokule'a is the famous Polynesian sailing canoe that has been involved in both tragic and great Hawaiian historical events and evokes great pride amongst locals. This dual hulled voyaging canoe found its way into Kailua Bay in 2006 and was greeted by kayaks and canoes of all shapes and sizes. The Hokule'a is more than a replica as it has successfully sailed thousands of miles to Tahiti and back using traditional navigational techniques such as the stars and reflections in the clouds.
