“Kailua Sailboards and kayaks began as a small company in Kailua town in the early eighties. As the first company in Kailua to offer kayaking, windsurfing and surfing, our staff has accumulated a great amount of experience and we try to pass this on to our customers. Our team of guides and instructors is constantly being trained and updated in an attempt to improve our services and as a result we are re-setting the bar for watersport guides in Hawaii.” Egmar Klemmer, Owner. |

Steve began his guiding career in 1997 while studying Pre-med Evolution, Ecology and Biology at Ohio State as a Trip Leader for class-5 whitewater rafting. He soon became a safety kayaker and was involved in training for a guiding company. He first traveled to Hawaii to help protect endangered sea turtles. He then headed to South America for scientific expeditions, and returned to Hawaii in 2002 where he is now the Co-Director of Hawaii's American Canoe Association, a member of the Offshore Island Restoration Committee, and a volunteer Search and Rescue Team member. While not at work, you will find him in the waves, rivers or forests of Hawaii somewhere. |
