Nate comes from a strong background of outdoor adventure training. Growing up in the depths of the bitter cold of Northern Michigan, it took a college degree to bring him to his senes and seek a more tropical climate. He earned his bachelors degree at Northern Michigan University in Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management. He has fought wildfires out West and learned to teach canoeing, rock climbing, and wilderness backpacking back East. His passions in the Islands include photography, surfing, and conservation work.
