Originally from the landlocked -- some would say "marine challenged" -- Midwest, Dan has spent the latter third of his life moving from beach to beach in search of the ideal combination of surf, sun, and sympathetic women. His pursuits have taken him to California, Australia, Japan, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and finally to Hawaii where he currently attends the University of Hawaii. Besides kayaking, Dan loves surfing, diving, hiking, biking, volleyball, and writing advertising jingles on his ukulele.
